Okay some other changes include: Chad (the a$$hole cop) is completely removed, it is strongly implied that Sarah Palmer>! is possessed by Judy, !! Judy is in the Palmer house!< at the end, but I'm not sure how I'd go about that (I'm that skilled at VFX lol) Then, the last 15 minutes play out how they do in Part 18, ending on the now famous, gloriously perfect cliffhanger. He finds "Carrie Page" and they travel to Twin Peaks. Cooper wakes up the next morning, Diane missing, and goes to find Laura. They arrive at the hotel, and Diane has another flashback (another clip from Blue Velvet) where she tells him about her dreams of robins. Here, we use a scene from Blue Velvet to detail a young Cooper and Diane talking about the "plan". They drive 430 miles away, and prepare to cross over. But, he can now leave, and when he re-emerges in Glatsonbury Grove, Diane is there waiting for him. He finds Laura and tries to save her, but she disappears and he is pulled into the black lodge again. He gives Cooper a few messages, and sends him back to 1989, the night of Laura Palmer's death. Cooper goes through the electrical socket and ends up in the White Lodge with the Giant/Fireman. (A whole lot of rotoscoping for this.) He asks if she remembers what the "plan" is and she confirms, then disappears back to Twin Peaks. Cooper, meanwhile, meets Ronnette, and Naido re-appears before him, disappearing from the sheriff's station, and turns into Diane. C is sucked back into the Lodge and dies. Andy gets a vision from the Giant/Fireman about who Naido really is. She reappears in front of Hawk, Frank, Andy, and Bobby. Cooper, in the Mauve Room, finds Naido, but she falls into space. PART TWO: 2:53 - (This'll be a bit more detailed description) Hawk, Frank, Andy, and Bobby go to Jack Rabbit's palace. C, is tracking down Phillip Jefferies and an entity known as Judy in the short time before he gets pulled back into the lodge at 2:53. He is told that his doppelganger must come back in before he can leave. Meanwhile, Cooper talks with Laura, Mike, and The Arm. He, along with Frank, Bobby, Andy and Lucy, start investigating. PART ONE: The Return - The Log Lady calls Hawk and convinces him to re-open the case of missing FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper. C's search for Judy, and a few scenes of Ed and Norma thrown in for good measure (and much needed wholesomeness). It now only follows a few plotlines now: Hawk re opening the investigation into Cooper, Cooper's Odyssey back to Twin Peaks through the Lodges, Mr. It's not finished yet, but check out the trailer for Part I here: Īlmost every single side plot is removed, (this was heart-wrenching to do its all gone: Gordon's Blue Rose investigation, Michim Brothers-who were my favorites-and even Dougie Jones and Janie E) So, its split up into two hour and a half parts, titled: The Return & 2:53. Now, I really did like the return, but for fun, I tried to edit the limited event series in a way that feels a bit more like the original series, both in aesthetics and pace, (though, the tone does still remain dark, which I think still works perfect if its watched following the FWWM which is already darker than the og series.) This edit has two goals: Make it look & sound more like the original series (so 4:3, adding music, color-grading etc.) and making it a whole lot shorter.
